It never takes Leopold long to go from sleeping peacefully to getting into trouble. I was interested in showing the progression of a scene and I decided to storyboard Leopold stealing smokes and hiding under the bar. Leopold might be cute but he make no mistake he is a delinquent. I like the comic [...]
I was working hard on Monday and was exhausted by the end of the day. It was a rewarding feeling and I was inspired to show Leopold at the end of his day, curled up with the accordion and his tiny hat out in front. The poor little guy must have been dancing all [...]
When we unpacked our last box after the move to Portland I was thinking it would be kind of funny and somewhat sinister if Leopold had a delivery as well. I could see him down at the docks with the longshoreman overseeing the unloading of his crate. I wonder what he would have inside [...]
I decided it was time to return to one of Leopold’s old school haunts. Here he is smoke in hand, drink half-gone, and three sheets to the wind.
I’ve always enjoyed this time of the year and especially Halloween. To help celebrate I felt it was important to include Leopold in the festivities.

Halloween’s origins date back to the ancient Celtic [...]

I found a great place for coffee in Portland. Barista is located at 13th and Hoyt. It has a good vibe and is perfect for taking a moment to enjoy an amazing cup of jo and to do a quick sketch. Barista will definitely be a regular hangout for me and Leopold.
Some days being a monkey isn’t all fun and games. I was running around all day and was on my final errand for the day when I suddenly realized that I had Googled 190 SW Portland instead of 1900 SW Portland. I was not happy to find out that my walk just became 18 [...]
I thought I would try something new with my sketches of Leopold. I wanted to try to create more of a painting with the drawings and I am very happy with the initial results. Specifically, I like the grittiness and depth I was able to achieve.
A police officer came upon a terrible wreck where the driver and passenger had been killed. As he looked upon the wreckage a little monkey came out of the brush and hopped around the crashed car.
The officer looked down at the monkey and said “I wish you could talk.” The monkey looked up at [...]
